Vagabond Inn Executive - Sacramento (Old Town)

A really great hotel for a quick visit. We initially chose it because of the good price and location. We were pleased to be met with amazing service and a clean room. Would certainly stay again for our next event.

I had a really good experience staying at the Vagabond Inn in Sacramento. The location is perfect—it’s right by Old Sacramento, just a short walk to the waterfront, shops, and restaurants. It made exploring the area super convenient without having to drive everywhere. The room itself was clean and surprisingly spacious. The bed was comfortable, and I slept well both nights. I liked that they had a fridge and microwave in the room—it’s small things like that that make a big difference, especially when you’re traveling. The AC worked great, and the Wi-Fi was strong the whole time. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. They made check-in quick and gave me a few tips about local spots to eat and visit. There’s also a pool area which looked nice, even though I didn’t get a chance to use it. Overall, it felt safe, comfortable, and definitely worth the price. If you’re visiting Sacramento and want to stay somewhere close to everything without spending too much, I’d definitely recommend Vagabond Inn. I’ll be coming back for sure on my next trip!

The rooms were doing their best. A place called Vagabond is what it is, but the beds were clean and comfy. Mostly wanted to commend the staff for being incredibly helpful; everyone on desk was very quick to respond to any requests I had and especially want to shout out Norik, who went out of his way to help me late at night when I discovered a massive black widow spider and had to switch rooms, and again when I needed something printed lastminute. The rooms may be unglamorous but I appreciate the quality customer treatment.

The location is perfect, the room was very clean and very basic, There's no bad smell since the floor is wooden and the bedside lamps aren't too bright. The vanity mirror is perfect. I will definitely come back again.

Stayed one night,they were nice enough to let me check in early, seemed like the counter staff were new to running a hotel,but they were all pleasant. The rooms looked recently renovated,the beds were fairly comfortable,had to put a towel under the door to keep out the freeway noise and cold. It is a loud location, excellent for going to the K street mall, Old town or the Capitol. Across the street from the Amtrak station as well. Biggest Problem was the free Continental breakfast. The problem was that there really wasn't one. There was some very meh coffee,and the only other items were bread and bagels. Had to ask for cream cheese. Many people complained while I was there, they offered no apologies or explanation. That is always a huge negative, would like to stay again,but will probably try somewhere else next time. Again, decent room and location for the price.

Good price, rooms could be cleaner though. When we unfolded the bed comforter at night to go to sleep, there were long hairs on the bed sheet. Locstion wise, it's good, close to old Sacramento and a few minutes walk to the state Capitol. It is close to the freeway bridge, but your faintly hear the cars passing ( at least in the room we got). Parking is free, and the staff were courteous.

Perfectly located across the street from the train station, this hotel was just what I needed for an overnight connection. On check-in I was offered soda and cookies. The room is somewhat bare bones -- mine didn't even have a box of tissues -- but clean with firm comfortable bedding. They've secured this motel at a busy downtown intersection by requiring a room key to access the open corridor containing the rooms. This made for a surprising feeling of seclusion. The hotel is just a couple blocks from the river and the museums and t-shirt shops of Old Town Sacramento. I'd gladly stay here again.

I’m an attorney who was in town attending trial at the nearby courthouse, and I can’t say enough good things about my stay here—especially the exceptional service provided by Leana. From check-in to check-out, she went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, which made a stressful work trip much more manageable. Her professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail truly stood out. The hotel was clean, conveniently located, and quiet—everything I needed during a busy trial week.
